Downsizing is Often Required before Your Move

Senior moves can be complicated because they often require the owner to downsize during the transition. In conjunction with calling a moving company, it is often useful to hire a Senior Move Manager certified by the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM). These managers will assist older adults and their families with the emotional and physical aspects of relocation. The Portland, Maine area has a few Certified Senior Move Managers available to help. The Maine Department of Health and Human Services has a great page for everything related to seniors. The Legal Services for the Elderly also offers free legal help for Maine’s socially and economically needy elderly age 60 and older.
