As a family-owned and operated business in Portland, Maine, we see value in giving back to the community. Small business owners have the advantage of being able to work together to make a difference in their city and share services to give more back to our clients. Integrity Movers has had the privilege of getting to know and work with a great Maine organization: Woodfords Family Services.
Woodfords Family Services was founded over 45 years ago by a group of parents who had a vision for a better life for their children with special needs. Today, the nonprofit organization offers many invaluable programs and services, including:
- residential services
- family support services–serving over 450 individuals and their families
- preschools in Westbrook, Freeport, Waterville, and Rockland for over 100 children, most of whom have autism
- case management servicing 250 children and 55 adults
- a therapeutic foster care system for children with developmental disabilities or severe medical issues
- a training and community resource center
- a team of ABA consultants
Woodfords Family Services has a goal of bringing all children, adolescents, and adults into the fabric of the community, which they accomplish through tireless outreach and programming throughout the state. As a nonprofit organization, they rely on charitable donations from businesses and community members to sustain their invaluable services.
